Using
this site
Virginia College Quest has been designed to provide full accessibility.
Most documents are provided in several formats including a “printer
friendly” HTML version, a MS WORD version and a Portable
Document (PDF) version.
In
addition, the site is “speech enabled” using Browsaloud
software. Here is more information on using these features:
Using
PDF documents
It's
easy to download the documents we have provided in Portable
Document Format (PDF). You can view them on your screen or
print your own paper copies. For best results and maximum
accessibility, please use the latest version (6.0) of Acrobat
Reader. It is available FREE at the page below.
-
If you already have the Acrobat Reader, simply click the
link to the PDF file. The Acrobat Reader program will open
the document.
-
If you need to print the document or form, click the Acrobat
Reader's "Print" button. (Do NOT use your web
browser's "Print" command.) Your printed copy
will have the same formatting as the original document.
-
If you need to download the free Acrobat Reader software,
visit the "Download
Adobe Acrobat Reader” page and follow the steps
outlined.
If
you are using a screen reader and are blind
or visually impaired, you may download the Adobe Access
plug-in at no charge. This program allows you to convert
a PDF file to a simple HTML or ASCII text file which is accessible
to most screen readers.
Using
browsealoud software
Free
to download, easy to use with control over the voice, pitch
and speed, browsealoud reads the text that you require with
the hover of a mouse. Simply by scrolling your mouse over
the text that you want read to you, browsealoud will read
and speak what you require, helping you navigate websites
more easily.
browsealoud
is a Windows application and can be used with Internet Explorer
4 upwards or Netscape Navigator. To download and install browsealoud,
visit the “browsealoud
downloads” page and follow the steps outlined.
